A place and its people

 

As I did research on the archaic ideas of the Feminine, I kept coming across the fact that these spirits are extremely local. Each home, each tree, each flower has its own personal Lar or fairy.

Of all the trees that symbolize the South to me, the Magnolia is the most prominent:   the very first tree I fell in love with when I moved south was a Star Magnolia opening its beautiful large pink flowers on bare leafless branches.
